$2595.00 + extra parts needed beyond basic carb kit.

NOTE: some processes listed below are specific to Zenith carburetors.

  • Disassemble, chemical soak, ultrasonic clean and bead blast all components.

  • Drill out plugs, clean out all internal fuel galleries and re-plug.

  • Precision line bore throttle shaft journals for new brass bushings or new .2mm oversized throttle shafts if needed.

  • Machine bottom mounting flanges for flatness.

  • All steel hardware is bead blasted, de-burred and zink plated to OEM specifications.

  • Brass components are inspected,  bead-blasted and wire-wheeled

  • All jetting components are inspected and measured for size in addition to the above cleaning process.

  • Adjustable Idle air jet modification

    • adjustability of the idle/progression circuit beyond idle jet changes.

    • can greatly aid in tuning for smooth transition from low to high circuits, eliminating the lean spike / hesitation sometimes found in the mid rpm range. (2500-3500rpm)

  • Accelerator bellcrank re-profiled for a more aggressive accelerator pump activation. (Zenith specific)

  • Apply Alodine finish on bodies

  • Top cover modified for anti percolation fix that allows fuel that collects on the upper carb bodies to flow back into the bores. This helps eliminate the chance of fire from a backfire through the carb.

  • Optional (recomended)- Seal off the overrun enrichment circuit. (Zenith specific)

    • leave circuit components on carbs for a stock look _OR_ remove the circuit components for a cleaner look that makes tuning a bit easier because there isn't as many things in the way.

  • Bench set floats.

  • Bench set throttle plates for parity in flow.

  • Bench set accelerator pumps for flow and parity.

  • Run and set up on test engine to ensure no leaks and all the adjustable elements are doing what they should to ensure carbs are ready to go!

Performance options:

  • Venturi and jetting sizes can be altered for performance and / or engine requirements. @$600.00

    • Stock venturi size is 27.5mm. 30mm is a great bump for a stock motor.

    • 30, 32 and 34 are common upsizing options depending on the engine requirements and other modifications such as exhaust, camshafts, compression ratio.

    • Includes venturies, and all jets as neccessary.

Optional Services:

  • Restore throttle linkage set @ $175.00

    • bead blast and zink plate all components.

    • Blueprint throttle crossbar geometry to ensure equal throw for each carburetor.

  • Restore air horns @$125.00

    • Bead Blast and re plate. (No chrome)

  • Restore engine fan and housing @450.00 See pics in upper gallery.

    • Drill out rivets, blast all components.

BIO

My Background and Story

I was born in 1970 - the same era as these carburetors. Just like these carbs I was feeling a bit worn out and in need of a restoration. I had been in the corporate design world for the past twenty two years and felt it was time to follow my heart. My passion has always been mechanical in nature, from being a lego maniac as a kid to go karts and mini bikes, then onto cars and motorcycles. I've owned and tuned many carbureted vehicles over the years - I don't think I've ever not had one at any point. Porsche, BMW, VW, Fiat, down drafts, side drafts, singles, doubles, triples, you name it! from 1995 to 2000 I worked as a European auto mechanic. That experience helped concrete a life long love and appreciation for the art of mechanics.

In the fall of 2021 I was able to spend some time with Paul Abbot of Performance Oriented. He is a wonderful human being as well as the Guru of Porsche carburetors. I had already been restoring carbs as a side gig when I purchased all of his Zenith inventory and knowledge. We had a deep dive at his shop. He shared with me his theory, techniques, processes and secrets of these carburetors. The knowledge I gained brought my craft to a high level where I feel very confident to provide superior service for these carburetors.

I live in New Brighton, Minnesota with my wonderful wife Cathy. We have two kids, Evan and Anna, that have flown the coop and are on their way to their own exciting and successful lives.

I am fortunate to currently own and operate my 914/6 GT Tribute that I built from the ground up.
